Do you do free quotes?

Yes, always. Nate will come out to your site, take a look at what you need, and give you a clear written quote with no obligation. There's no charge for this, ever.

How long does a job take from quote to completion?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the size and complexity of the job, but for most residential fencing we can typically get started within a couple of weeks of accepting a quote. Smaller jobs can sometimes be done sooner. We'll always give you a realistic timeframe upfront.

Question 3

Do I need a building consent for my fence?

Accepted Answer

Usually not. In New Zealand, most fences under 2.5 metres don't require building consent. Pool fencing is the main exception: pool barriers must comply with the Fencing of Swimming Pools Act and require a council inspection. Retaining walls over 1.5 metres may also need consent. If you're unsure, just ask Nate and he'll let you know what applies to your situation.

Do you supply the materials, or do I need to organise them?

We handle everything. We supply and install, so you don't need to source anything. We use quality materials from trusted local suppliers, and pricing includes everything you need for a finished job.

Question 5

What's the difference between timber and composite fencing?

Accepted Answer

Timber fencing has a natural look, is generally lower cost upfront, and can be stained or painted. The trade-off is it needs more maintenance over time: oiling, staining, replacing boards that deteriorate. Composite (like Titan or similar products) costs more upfront but is virtually maintenance-free, doesn't rot, fade, or splinter, and holds its colour for years. For most Queenstown properties we'd say composite pays for itself over time. Nate will give you an honest opinion based on your budget and how hands-on you want to be.

Question 7

Can you match my existing fencing?

Accepted Answer

In most cases, yes. We'll look at what you have and do our best to match it as closely as possible: style, colour, height, material. If an exact match isn't achievable (for example, a discontinued product), we'll let you know before we start and suggest the closest alternative.

Question 8

Do I need to be home during the job?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. As long as we can access the site, we can get on with the work. Many customers are at work while we're installing. We'll always make sure the site is secure and tidy before we leave.
